Thank you so much for the trouble you went to ensuring that our holiday still went ahead. We had a wonderful time on Stafford, the boat was immaculate, and David was so helpful on our arrival. We left Ashton and went down the Macclesfield Canal as far as Kidsgrove. The Marple and Bosley flight of locks were a challenge as there was only two of us, but we did it!!!!!! We then returned and turned right at Marple onto the Peak Forest Canal down to Bugsworth Basin. The views were breath taking and the canal was smaller and twistier which made it very interesting. We had a meal at the Navigation Inn at Bugsworth Basin which was superb. After overnighting there we took a leisurely cruise back to Portland Basin to diesel up and pump out. Would point out that this is going to be tricky for the longer boats as there is little room to manoeuvre. We then tried out 3 or 4 locks of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal as far as Stalybridge before returning to overnight on our last night at Ashton. Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday with you, and were most impressed with all the information that you sent us prior to the holiday. No other canalboat company has done that for me before and it made a real difference. Really hope the Rochdale Canal gets sorted as soon as possible so that you can return to normal. Happy to be your ‘guinea pigs’ and will come back for more at some time.
