Dear Nigel and Susan,
Just to say we enjoyed our week on the Stafford and were reasonably lucky with the weather. From Ashton we went up the HNC spending Sat night at an offside mooring just before Scout Tunnel. Sunday we eventually made it to lock 23W and turned and stopped there overnight visiting the Navigation Pub which was fine but busy. Next day (Monday) after a late start due to the rain we returned down and moored again just before the Scout Tunnel. Tuesday we carried on into the Peak Forest and moored at Romiley and had a good meal at the Duke of York. Weds we made it to the interesting Buxworth Basin and had a meal at the Navigation. Thurs returned to Romily and the Duke of York again. Friday went slowly down to Portland Marina and then onto Ashton Packet where we spent the night.
