Thank you so much for another great holiday.
We had a fantastic time on The Leeds and Liverpool.
We went East as far as Saltaire and then came back West up to the mouth of Foulridge tunnel before heading back to Barnoldswick.
Friday evening saw us wild mooring around Langber, a beautiful spot and a really lovely evening.
We knew it was forecasting rain for Saturday so up and at it early as we were picking up guests at Gargrave, dropped through the Bank Newton flight on a rainless but overcast morning and moored near Gargrave to wait...
then came our guests and the rain too!
So donning our trusty wet-weather gear we carried them down to East of Skipton in side whilst we worked the boat, they then disembarked and we moved a little further East.
Sunday saw us once again doing an early start and quite a long day straight to Saltaire, however, we moored before Dowley Gap and took Ellie for a walk into Saltaire(had a little chuckle at the bar "Don't tell Titus").
Winding the boat here gave us plenty of time to take a leisurely cruise back up, we stopped overnight at the lovely Gargrave visitor moorings (Monday night). We also stopped at East Marton and went for lunch at The Cross Keys, I was so hungry I had the most delicious steak and ale pie with chips and seasonal veg. Mmmm, lovely!
We took our time coming back and the weather was set fair , so really perfect cruising conditions.
On Thursday afternoon we went to The Anchor for something to eat and a gawp at Foulridge tunnel and an evening cruise back to base.
Yet again we have met the nicest folk and I must say I'm quite impressed with Jussys boat handing skills... he's getting quite good!
I must also mention the crew of nb Eshton (a hire from one of the companies in Skipton)... You could not meet nicer people, we travelled up the 3 and 5 rise with them and also through the Bank Newton flight.
Lindon,Sue and "Mum" were great company and hard workers.
What a trip, we didn't want to come home but it's making us hungry for more.
I must take the opportunity to thank yourselves
and also Richard and Julie (if you could pass that on). I do have photos but my boss has installed a new os on my puter and I'm having techno probs, so hopefully I will send once I know what I'm doing(!) Anyhoo, sunnyside up to you all.
